Darci is very beautiful and fuzzy! She loves to talk to people, and will carry on conversations with us. She loves to run and play with her littermates. She also loves to be held and petted.
Wil likes his name, and answers to it when you call him! Wil loves to run and play. He pounces on anything that moves. You should see him trying to jump up and catch dragonflies! He also loves to climb. It is very entertaining watching him play! His nickname is "Silly Willy."
Laura also knows her name, and comes when you call her. Laura is definitely a people cat! She loves to follow us around the yard. She wants to be a house cat, as she is constantly sneaking into our house! She loves to be held, and will snuggle up and fall asleep in our hands. She also loves to be petted, and scratched behind the ears. She purrs like a motorboat when we hold her and pet her. She also loves to eat. Her nickname is "The Fuzzy Butterball." Laura was successfully adopted on December 27, 2004! She is now a housecat in a wonderful new home, with a new big brother named Max!
Two of these adorable, cuddly, playful kittens are now available for adoption!

This is Flash. She is one of the female cats that we feed. Flash won't let us catch her to get her fixed! October 5, 2004 was the first time she had her newest litter out where we could see them. The tabby is obviously a male. The other two are female. One is a Tortoise Shell Tabby (Torbie) and the other is a Tortoise Shell (Tortie). Three color cats such as Torties, Torbies, and Calicos are almost always female. The kittens are now tame, and love to come around us for attention. They currently live in the Little Tykes Playhouse by the back steps. Most mornings, one or more of them will be waiting on the back steps for us to come outside and play with them.
We
held a kitten naming contest to come up with ideas for their names. My 8 year old
wanted to name the tabby Wil, after Wil
Wheaton who so generously donated an
autographed 8 x 10 color photograph to help raise money to get some of our cats
fixed and vaccinated. She said she also wants to name him Wil because he
looks just like his older brother Wesley
Crusher.
People posted their ideas for names in the comment section of this
Live Journal entry! We chose the names we liked most. Instead of choosing
names that people suggested, we actually chose the one of the girl's names from
the name of one of the ladies who posted ideas! We named one Darci, after my
friend Darci who posted about naming the three kittens after the three
hurricanes we had recently been affected by. We named one Wil, after Wil
Wheaton as explained above. We named the third Laura,
after a long time friend from the TechTV days.
Many thanks to those of you who contributed ideas for names for the three new kittens!
I've posted more pictures and some video clips of the kittens on My Cat Ranch Moblog. These three kittens will be available for adoption as soon as they are old enough. Please contact me if you are interested in adopting one or more of the kittens.
